We are looking for five photographs a month.

Sole & Spark is a small independent jewelry brand. Toe rings, anklets, barefoot chains. Gold-tone and sterling, $14.99 to $44.99, and we call them what they are.

Our own pictures are clean and consistent, and that is all they are. A studio shot cannot tell you how a piece wears on a long day at the water. So each month we choose five people, send them pieces to keep, and ask them to photograph the things somewhere we would never have thought to go.

We choose on the work. Not on how many people follow you. Most of the applications we get are a no, and we would rather say that at the top than at the bottom.

What we read for

Three things, and none of them are numbers.

The pictures themselves

Light you chose, a frame you thought about, and a point of view that survives being looked at twice. Phone photography is entirely welcome. Consistency beats polish.

Somewhere we could not go

A place that belongs to your life rather than to a set. The strongest applications we read name a specific one, not a mood.

That the pieces would fit there

Small gold and silver jewelry worn on a foot or an ankle. If you cannot picture where it would sit in your work, it is probably not a fit this time, and that is a fine outcome.

Straight answers

What this is not.

It is not a job, and it is not paid. We send pieces to keep. There is no commission, no affiliate link and no payout, and we would rather say that plainly than dress it up. If that ever changes it changes in writing, with a named way of paying you, before you are asked for anything.

There is no posting requirement. No deadline, no quota, no minimum. If the pieces end up in a jewelry dish, that is a fine outcome and we will not follow up about it. If you do post, free product has to be disclosed in the first line of the caption (Gifted by Sole & Spark #gifted #ad), above the "more" fold, or superimposed on the video on TikTok. That is required by the FTC's Endorsement Guides, 16 CFR Part 255, and it applies whether or not we asked you for anything in return. The brand is on the hook for it as much as you are, so it is the one thing we will ever chase you about.

Sending this does not give us permission to use anything. If we ever want to use one of your photographs we ask you first, in writing, every single time. We will not use your photographs to train or fine-tune any software, and we will not create a digital version of you.

We will not add you to the store's mailing list, and you will not hear from us again unless you write back.

We ship inside the United States only, and you have to be 18 or older.

Apply

Six questions. It takes about a minute.

What that means, in full. Sending this does not give us permission to use anything. If we ever want to use one of your photographs, we ask you first, in writing, every single time, and you can say no. If you say yes, that permission covers our own website and our own social accounts, with your credit, for twelve months from the day you agree, and it does not cover paid advertising, which is a separate conversation and a separate payment. We will not use your photographs to train or fine-tune any software, and we will not create a digital version of you. That is written into the one-page agreement we send before anything ships, and it stays true after the agreement ends.

We keep what you send here to make this decision and to write back about it. We do not sell it and we do not share it, and we delete applications we did not take forward after twelve months. Write to hello@soleandspark.com and we will delete yours sooner.

Five packages go out each month. Most applications are a no, and that is a normal outcome rather than a comment on your work.

Still deciding?

Read the longer version of how this works, including what arrives, what we ask, and the questions people send before they apply. Or look at the pieces first, which is the honest way to tell whether they belong in your work.
